Father Christmas

This last full school week before Christmas, we will be reading The Father Christmas Letters by J.R.R. Tolkien, an imaginary history of Father Christmas which is very creative but not quite as bizarre as L. Frank Baum's The Life and Adventures of Santa Clause, from which you read excerpts this past week. Do you think you could make up your own imaginary history of Father Christmas? Be thinking about it, as you might have a chance to do it this week.

Welcome

Welcome to the new blog for sixth grade reading! I hope to post reading schedules and news about reading class here, and I will also be blogging here about some of the things we are reading. Check back for pictures, information, polls, and more!

Here's a good way to start the blog: let's each tell about our favorite story from the reading book this year. Can you pick a favorite? After you tell which is your favorite, tell why you liked it best.

When you post a comment, remember the blog rules:
  • Be nice. Don’t say anything negative about a classmate or any other person.
  • Posts must be signed with your first name only. (Remember: your name starts with a capital letter!) If there are two people with your first name, add the initial of your last name.
